On January 5, 2025, the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office took a report of burglaries at two residences in rural northern Winneshiek County. The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office immediately began an investigation into the matter. With the assistance of Driftless Security Solutions, the case facts of the investigation led to three suspects who were living in Howard County. Therefore, the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office obtained search warrants for the homes in Cresco, Iowa. The search warrants were executed and items stolen were located and recovered. The Howard County Sheriff's Office and Cresco Police Department assisted in the execution of the search warrants.

Subsequently, Dalton Hagen, Travis Olson and Troy Sobolik were each charged and arrested on warrants for two counts of felony 3rd degree burglary. In addition, Dalton Hagen was also arrested on an arrest warrant for violation of probation.


Damage totaled 25-thousand dollars in a two-vehicle accident in Winneshiek County. The accident occurred on January 24th at 9:59am near 110th Street. 61-year old John Charles Meyer of Rollingstone, Minnesota, was operating a 2012 International 7000 pickup southbound on Highway 150. Meyer was going to turn left and did not realize that a 2019 Freightliner Semi, operated by 34-year old Donald Peter Mammoser of Hamlet, Indiana, had begun to pass. Damage to the Meyer vehicle included front wheel damage and the Mammoser semi received damage to the passenger side and trailer and the side fuel tank was punctured. No one was injured.
