Winnshiek County Fatality

A Spillville man was killed in a one-vehicle accident in Winnshiek County. Authorities identify the driver as 21-year old Collin Ryan Hageman of Spillville. The accident occurred on April 24th at 9:38pm on County Road W-14. Hageman was operating a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix southbound. Hageman was approaching a left curve at the intersection with 197th Street. The vehicle exited the roadway, collided with a ditch/culvert and went airborne, collided with a fence and came to rest on it's roof. Hageman was thrown from the vehicle. Hageman was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
