Winneshiek County Releases


Two people were injured in a UTV accident in Winneshiek County. The accident occurred on December 8th at 7:14pm. Authorities report that 37-year old Corbin Lynn Turner of Decorah was operating e a 2024 UTV Can-Am Defender near the Winneshiek-Howard County border near 220th Street. Turner reportedly swerved to miss a deer, the vehicle struck a hazard sign and cement culvert in the north ditch. An unidenfitied female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. Both were taken to the Cresco Hospital, then airlifted to different hospitals. Authorities report that appears the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and a blood speciman warrant was issued for Turner for further investigation. Charges are pending.
