One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Winneshiek County. 45-year old Brian Todd Sauer of Calmar was operating a 2007 Chevrolet K2500 Silverado on Highway 52 on June 19th at 1:44pm. Sauer attempted to turn west onto Town Line Road. A 2015 GMC Acadia operated by 68-year old Deanna Rae Gefalller of Oelwein was directly behind. Gefaller did not see the Sauer vehicle turn and attempted to avoid a collision by overtaking to the left side but struck the drivers side rear door of the truck. Both vehicles entered the ditch. Gefaller was taken by EMS Ground to WinnMed for treatment of injuries. Sauer was not injured. Damage totaled 13-thousand dollars.
