On April 8th at 2:58 p.m., the Manchester Police Department and Delaware County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a student regarding a potential external threat to West Delaware Middle School.

Law enforcement was already on scene, and additional officers responded promptly. As a precaution, the school initiated its lockdown protocol while the threat was assessed.

The situation was quickly resolved, and the lockdown was lifted shortly thereafter. The individual responsible has been identified, and law enforcement is determining appropriate next steps.

At this time, there is no ongoing threat to West Delaware staff or students.
