Monona Council

The Monona City Council received an update on the W-45 mill and overlay street project. The project will be done in the summer of next year and is a joint project with the city and county. The city of Monona will pay 35-percent of the project at a cost of 126-thousand dollars.

The Council approved a five-year Garbage Contract with Town and Country for dumpster pick-up in the city.

They approved the first reading of an ordinance pertaining to water fees. If approved, it would add a $25 charge for a door hanger, the final step before water is shut off.

The Council also approved the first reading of an ordinance to increase garbage rates by four-dollars a month.

The Council also received an update on financing for the recent Sewer Lining Project. The 600-thousand dollar project ended up being done at no cost to the city. They received a 149-thousand dollar forgivable loan and the rest of the funds were from a grant and American Rescue Funds.
