A number of people attended the Monona City Council meeting on Monday night and some spoke in support of the Monona Police Department. Monona Officers have reportedly not felt appreciated by City Officials and Council Members. They also voiced concern over wages being paid compared to other communities. The Council approved a wage scale increase for officers and City Officials will hold an employee meeting with the officers to address their concerns. The Council did accept the resignation of Police Chief Jo Amsden, who is retiring on January 26th. Amsden has been Chief for the past ten years.
