On April 2, 2025 at 10:16 a.m., the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office received information from  the Houston County Minnesota Sheriff’s Office that Houston County Sheriff’s Deputies were  attempting to stop a fleeing vehicle driven by Tyler Michael Pierce (age 39) traveling south on  State Highway 76 N toward the Iowa Minnesota border. Pierce had struck a Houston County  Sheriff’s vehicle while attempting to elude law enforcement. Pierce was wanted on an Iowa  arrest warrant at this time.

Law  enforcement officers deployed “stop sticks” and were successful in deflating three of the  vehicle’s tires. The vehicle continued on at speeds in excess of 90 mph. As the fleeing vehicle  entered the City of Preston, Minnesota on Highway 52, the vehicle attempted to pass a semi tractor trailer on the right and struck the semi, causing severe damage to the 2007 Honda  Accord. The vehicle came to a stop and Pierce was taken into custody.

Pierce was transported by ambulance to a Rochester, Minnesota hospital for treatment of  injuries sustained in the crash. Pierce is currently in the custody of Minnesota Law Enforcement. No other persons were injured.

A Houston County Sheriff patrol vehicle and Allamakee County Sheriff patrol vehicle sustained  damage during the pursuit.
