Grant County Crash

On 11-1-24 at around 1223 hours dispatch received a report of a two-vehicle crash on HWY 80 at Lone Road in the town of Smelser. Cuba City Police and a Grant County Deputy responded and learned that Jordan Mumm, age 34, formerly from Livingston, was northbound in his 2002 Ford F150 when he struck the rear of a 2008 Toyota Highlander being driven by Travis Bartels, age 28, of Platteville. Bartels, who was also driving northbound on HWY 80, had slowed for a vehicle turning onto Lone Road. Mumm did not see Bartels slowing. The impact of the vehicles caused the Toyota to spin around and travel into the west ditch. Both parties were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and neither party sustained injury. Mumm was issued citations for inattentive driving and for operating while suspended. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Cuba City Police, Cuba City Fire, Kieler Service Center Towing, and SOS Towing of Platteville.
