 2 VEHICLE CRASH

On 3/1/25 at 9:20 AM, the Grant County Dispatch center received a call of a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 151 at Clay Hollow Rd., in the Town of Paris. When the officer and Deputy arrived, they learned William Lansing, 77, of Hopkinton, IA, was driving his 2013 Honda and was stopped at the stop sign on Clay Hollow Road at Hwy 151. Lansing informed the officers that he entered the intersection with Hwy 151 to turn south on Hwy 151, but as he was crossing the north bound lanes he saw the "do not enter" sign and realized that was a crossover lane designed to turn south at that intersection. Lansing then stopped in the lane of traffic. Joan Kieler, 61, of Hazel Green, was traveling north in her 2020 Ford Ranger, when she struck the driver's side of Lansing's vehicle due to him stopping in the lane of traffic. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, but Kieler was transported to Southwest Health Center by Dickeyville EMS for possible injuries. Both vehicles received heavy damage and were removed from the scene by Rip's Towing out of Platteville and Guys Trucking out of Kieler. Lansing was cited for stopping in an intersection. Assisting the Sheriff's Office at the scene were the Dickeyville Police Department, Dickeyville Fire Department, Dickeyville EMS, and the Grant County Highway Department. CFS25-05220

Two vehicle crash

On 3/3/25 at approximately 6:34pm, the Grant County Sheriff's Office took a report of a two vehicle crash on Hwy 35/61/81 at the intersection of Hwy 129, south of Lancaster. When deputies arrived on scene, they learned Randall Obrien, 55, of Benton was driving his 1982 Ford Econoline van, south on Hwy 129. Obrien had reportedly stopped at the intersection and looked to the left. Obrien reportedly saw oncoming traffic coming from the south, but he thought the oncoming traffic was in the turning lane to turn north onto Hwy 129. Obrien then proceeded to drive into the intersection in an attempt to turn south on Hwy 35/61/81, but he ended up turning in front a 2010 Chevrolet Colorado, being driven northbound by Kaia Kerkenbush, 16, of Potosi, who was not turning. When Obrien drove into the intersection, it caused Kerkenbush's vehicle to crash into the driver's side of Obrien's vehicle. Minor injuries were reported, and both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Obrien was cited for inattentive driving. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Lancaster Police Department, Lancaster EMS, Lancaster Fire, Arrow Towing, and Bennett's Towing
