One Vehicle Crash with Injury
On 04/17/2025, the Grant County Sheriff's Office received a report of a one vehicle crash with injury on Hwy 80 near Mockingbird Rd., in the Town of Lima.
When the Deputy arrived, he learned at approximately 7:04 PM, Connor Dowell, 19, and passenger Jonathan Garcia, 18, both of Montfort, were north bound on highway 80, near Mockingbird Road in Dowell's 2004 Pontiac Vibe, when Dowell's vehicle entered the shoulder of the road. Dowell then over-corrected his steering while attempting to bring the vehicle back onto the roadway. That caused Dowell's vehicle to enter the ditch and strike a culvert, momentarily causing the vehicle to become airborne. The vehicle then traveled approximately 100 feet,
before coming to a rest. Dowell's vehicle sustained disabling damage as a result of the crash. Both Dowell and Garcia were wearing their seat belts, but were injured in the cash and transported by EMS to Southwest Health Center in Platteville.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Platteville Fire Department, Southwest Health EMS, Montfort EMS, and Haase Towing and Service.
MINOR CRASH
On April 18, 2025, at 9:40 A.M., Nevaeh Miller, 17, of Boscobel, was driving a 2000 Jeep, north on Woodman Lake Ln., in Woodman Township, when she lost control on the gravel. Miller struck a tree in the east ditch, which is where the vehicle came to rest.
Miller was transported to Boscobel Hospital for medical evaluation by private vehicle. The vehicle received minor to moderate damage and was removed by Terry's Tire and Tow.
Crash in the Village of Tennyson
On April 19, 2025 the Grant County Sheriff's was notified of a two vehicle crash in the Village of Tennyson.
Upon arriving, Deputies learned Liam Allison, 20, of Potosi, was driving his 2017 Dodge Ram on Crest View Drive when his truck suffered a mechanical issue resulting in the truck losing a tire. After the truck lost the tire, Allison crashed into an unoccupied 2021 Buick Enclave, that was legally parked.
As a result of the investigation, Allison was arrested and cited for 1st Offense Operating While Under the Influence, 1st Offense Operating with a PAC <.15, and Underage Drinking.
The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Donnie's Tire & Auto.
MINOR TWO VEHICLE CRASH
On April 19, 2025 at 1:55 P.M., Faith Rathmann, 18, of Muscoda, was driving a 2013 Dodge Journey north on Grant Street in the Village of Blue River. Rathmann did not see the stop sign at the intersection with Main Street and continued north. At the same time, Kim Pearce, 56, of Blue River, was driving her 2018 Ford Eco Sport west on Main Street when both vehicle collided in the intersection. Both vehicles received minor to moderate damage, but were able to driven from the scene.
No injuries were reported, and all parties involved were wearing their seat belts. Rathmann was cited for Fail to Stop at a Stop Sign.
