On January 22nd, 2025, at 2:14PM the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a report of a train vs. semi accident on T Ave near the intersection of 20th street. When a deputy arrived, it was learned that 33-year-old Shane Kellner of Mason City was driving a Mack semi when he was unable to yield and collided with the oncoming train. No injuries were reported and Shane's vehicle sustained minimal damage. The accident remains under investigation.
On 1-23-25, at approximately 11:00Pm, Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Travis Newell McIntyre, 50 of Eldorado, on a Fayette County Arrest Warrant for Failure to Appear original charge Driving While License Suspended. McIntyre was taken into custody, and transported to Fayette County Jail, where he later posted $500 cash bond. Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by West Union Police Department.
