After a 3-month long investigation the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ethan Grant Guyer JR, 59 of Elgin on March 18, 2025. Guyer is being charged with 2 counts of Theft in the 2nd Degree (Felony), Fraudulent Practice 1st Degree (Felony) and Meat and Poultry License Violation (Simple Misdemeanor). Guyer was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was later released. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa Department of Agriculture, and the Iowa Meat and Poultry Inspection Bureau. This investigation is still ongoing, and more charges may be filed.


On March 20th, 2025, at approximately 4:15 PM , a Fayette County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no registration plates near the intersection of Main St/Bertha Ave in Arlington, IA. Upon further investigation, the driver, identified as Alex Deutmeyer, 26 of Manchester, was driving on a suspended license. Alex was arrested and charged with driving while suspended, and cited for operating a non-registered vehicle. Alex was placed under arrest and transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was held until his initial appearance.
On March 22, 2025, at approximately 9:47am, a Fayette County Deputy was notified that Jade Lynn Ann Nuehring, age 42 of Oelwein, came to the Sheriff’s Office to visit an inmate. Nuehring was operating a 2025 Hyundai Elantra and was found to not have a valid driver’s license. Nuehring was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail where she awaits an initial appearance from a Magistrate Judge.
On March 20th, 2025, at approximately 7:03 PM Shaun McBride, 31 of West Union, was arrested on a warrant for violation of probation. Shaun was taken into custody at the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office where he was held until his initial appearance.
