On January 18, 2025 at approximately 0308 hours the Dubuque County Sheriff Office, Holy Cross Fire, Sherrill Fire, and New Vienna Fire responded to 23773 Route 3 for the report of a structure fire. On arrival, a 160-foot barn containing approximately 100 chickens and hay was fully engulfed. Property owners Lisa and Kenneth Wille reported the barn was a total loss with an estimated value of $50,000. The cause of the fire is unknown, but the fire was not suspicious in nature. No injuries were reported.
On January 18, 2025 at approximately 0331 hours the Dubuque County Sheriff Office, Dyersville Fire and Farley Fire responded to 27938 Dyersville East RD for the report of a structure fire. An outbuilding caught fire and was fully engulfed upon arrival. The property owner Jared Wessels reported the building contained 9 chickens and 14 rabbits. The building is considered a total loss and less than $10,000 in damage was reported. The cause of the fire is unknown, but the fire was not suspicious in nature. No injuries were reported.
