On Tuesday, October 29th, 2024, at approximately 11:36 p.m., Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a sport utility vehicle vs. semi tractor trailer head-on collision on WI-State Highway 35, just north of Lynxville in the Township of Seneca.
An investigation determined that the driver of the SUV, Benjamin Kramer (16) of Eastman, was traveling southbound on STH 35, crossed the centerline, and collided head-on with a northbound semi tractor trailer driven by Jaswant Mahi (44) of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Benjamin’s mother, Heather Kramer (45) of Eastman, was seated in the front passenger seat, and his younger brother, Simon Kramer (13) of Eastman, was seated in the backseat. As a result of the collision, Benjamin and Simon were pronounced dead at the scene, and Heather was transported to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Jaswant escaped the collision without injury.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Seneca Fire Department, Seneca First Responders, Ocooch Mountain Rescue, Gundersen Ambulance, Crawford County Highway Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Milo’s Towing Service.
This crash remains under investigation.
