Clayton County Veterans Affairs Open


CLAYTON COUNTY, IOWA – February 14, 2025 – The Department of Veteran Affairs recently announced the dismissal of more than 1,000 federal employees. This does not impact the Clayton County Veterans Affairs office.

 

Clayton County Veterans Affairs is open and ready to assist veterans, veteran dependents, and survivors with applications for federal, state, and local VA benefits. Veterans are encouraged to schedule an appointment before visiting the Clayton County Veterans Affairs Office to ensure that they obtain and bring the appropriate paperwork and documentation needed to apply for benefits.  The office is managed by an accredited County Veteran Service Officer (CVSO) who is a trained advocate who works with the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs and other organizations to help veterans and their eligible family members apply for benefits that they may be eligible for. Services provided by the Clayton County Veterans Affairs office are free of charge.
