Clayton County Arrests

On August 17, 2024, at approximately 7:30 pm Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to 32186 HWY 13 Strawberry Point for a report of an argument. During the argument, the female involved ran into her boyfriend's semi with her car. Once on scene Deputies came in contact with the female party Jessica Westscott (32) of Strawberry Point, IA. After further investigation, it was determined that Westcott intentionally struck the semi. Westcott was placed under arrest and transported to the Clayton County Sheriff's Office. Westcott was charged with Reckless Driving and Criminal Mischief. 


On August 26, 2024, a Clayton County Deputy made a traffic stop on Hwy 52 and Herder Street in Guttenberg. During the traffic stop the Deputy discovered the driver to have a barred license through the State of lowa. The driver, identified as Tamara Messler (43) of Garber was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where she was charged with driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Guttenberg Police Department. 


On August 27, 2024, at approximately 7:55 pm, a Clayton County Deputy made contact with an adult male walking alongside Hwy 18 near Luana. The male individual walking was Abdow Mohamed (26) of Postville. During the incident Mohamed was found to be in possession of marijuana. Mohamed was placed under arrest and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana 1st Offense. 


On August 30th, 2024, at approximately 9:05 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a gray Honda CRV for traveling at a high rate of speed near the intersection of HWY 18 and Bloody Run Dr. near Marquette. Deputies could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle while speaking with the occupants. The female passenger, identified as Kaitlyn Rose Villegas (20) of Minneapolis, MN, later admitted to deputies that she had marijuana in her possession. Deputies seized marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle and Kaitlyn was later cited and released for Possession of Controlled Substance-marijuana 1o Offense (serious misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor).
