Audrey Elaine(Rasmussen) Belden of Manchester

Audrey Elaine (Rasmussen) Belden, 91, of Manchester, Iowa, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 21, 2025. She was born August 7, 1933, at home near St. Vincent, Minnesota, to Albert and Nora (Ash) Clow. She attended St. Vincent Public School and graduated from Pembina, North Dakota High School. Audrey went on to attend Bemidji State Teachers College in Bemidji, Minnesota and received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She taught in Fertile, Karlstad, Newfolden, Frazee and Walker, all in Minnesota.

Audrey met Glenn Rasmussen in Karlstad, MN, and they were united in marriage on January 3, 1959 in St. Vincent, MN. They were married for 56 years. To this union one son, John, was born in 1961. The family lived near Strandquist until 1966, moved to Frazee for two years, and then in 1969 moved to Walker where they lived for 39 years on the shores of beautiful Leech Lake. After 15 years of teaching, she worked with her husband in their turkey business, Lakeaire Turkeys, for 39 years. Following retirement, they traveled – many trips to Branson, and a memorable tour to England, Northern Europe, and three Scandinavian countries.

Audrey was a charter member of the Evangelical Free Church in St. Vincent, MN and later became a member of Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Walker, MN. At Walker she was the pianist, Sunday School teacher, and chairwoman of the Women’s Missionary Society. Audrey was involved in the Christian Women’s Club and led some of their Bible studies. She enjoyed people and helped several older people who couldn’t do things for themselves. Audrey’s hobbies were reading, teaching children to read, traveling, baking, and watching game shows such as Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

In 2008 Audrey and Glenn decided to move to Manchester to be near their son and family – they enjoyed attending all the musical programs their two grandchildren were in. Glenn passed away on January 16, 2015.

On July 3, 2016, Audrey married Richard Belden in Manchester. They enjoyed doing yard work, driving around town – leaf looking, going on bus tours – especially to Branson, and traveling to Northern Minnesota.
