July 1st Scores

Ty Stee delivered a two-out two rbi single in the top of the eighth inning as North Fayette/Valley rallied for a 10-8 8-inning win over MFL MarMac.  Brooks Hovden had three hits, including a double drove in two as part of a seven-run sixth inning.  Hovden also scored twice.  Jonah Moore drove in a pair with a walk in the sixth, and drove in the tying run in the seventh.  Trey Darnall and Lance Butikofer each had two hits.  For MFL MarMac, Max Havlichek singled, walked and drove in three runs, including two that put the Bulldogs up 6-nothing at the end of five.  Zach Trudo also drive in a run.  Nathan Johaningmeier singled and scored twice.  Cedrick Drahn picked well into the sixth, allowing only four hits and a run while issuing no walks and struck out six.  Trailing 6-0 in the sixth, Hovden doubled with one out to chase Drahn who was at around 80-pitches.   The Tigerhawks then erupted for seven runs against two relievers, including scoring five with two outs.  The Bulldogs then scored two in the bottom of the sixth to retake an 8-7 lead but left the bases loaded.  Moore tied the game with a two-out infield nubber up the third base line that brought in the tying run in the seventh.  Stee then delivered in the eighth.  Game two was suspended with NFV leading 7-5 in the bottom of the fourth and will resume at 4pm on Tuesday, July 2nd.  NFV is now 10 and 16, 7 and 4 in the conference.  MFL MarMac drops to 13 and 6, 7 and 4 in the league.
