Grant Accident

On July 26, 2018 at approximately 11:33 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff's Office took a report from the Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in Boscobel that a patient who reported to the ER for treatment of an injury was intoxicated and had driven away after being asked not to drive several times. A license plate, direction of travel, and vehicle description was provided. Approximately three minutes later the vehicle was observed operating east of Boscobel on Hwy 133 by a Grant County Deputy. A traffic stop was initiated and the vehicle eventually stopped on Hwy 133 near Kinney Ln. The driver was identified as Michelle Bunck, 45 years old of Blue River. Upon contact with the driver she stated she had been drinking earlier and she had fallen off of her bicycle and hit her head. Bunck went to the ER to get the injury looked at. The driver was belligerent and and uncooperative during the traffic stop. After a brief investigation Bunck was arrested for OWI 2nd. Bunck was transported back to the ER for a chemical test of her blood. Bunck was released from the ER to a responsible party. Bunck was cited for OWI 2nd and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Boscobel Police
