Burglary Charge

On July 1, 2018 at 6:59PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary in progress from an address on J Ave.  The property owner had confronted a male subject that was stealing items out of a machine shed, and the suspect fled the area.  As Deputies were responding, the suspect was located coming from the area, was stopped and taken into custody.  After an investigation, it was learned that 30 year old Nathan Allan Edgar of Van Buren Missouri, had broken into a machine shed near Oelwein, and had stolen items along with the vehicle he was driving, then went to the J Ave. area and burglarized another machine shed before being apprehended by Fayette County Law Enforcement.  Edgar was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree (Class C Felony), Burglary 3rd Degree (Class D Felony), Theft 2nd Degree (Class D Felony), Trespassing (Simple Misdemeanor), and Driving While Suspended (Simple Misdemeanor).  Edgar was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was held for an initial appearance in court.  The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the West Union Police Department.
