Fayette Releases

On 6/20/18 at approx. 10:40pm the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a vehicle in the ditch in the 4000 block of Echo Valley Road, approximately 1 mile west of Elgin. After further investigation, it was determined that Steven Lee Martin, age 49 of Randalia, was operating a Maroon 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue GLS west bound when he entered the south ditch. Further investigation determined that Martin was under the influence of alcohol. Martin was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was charged with Operating While Intoxicated 2nd Offense (Aggravated Misdemeanor) and Failure to Maintain Control.

 

On 6/19/18 at 9:20 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a vehicle that struck a deer on Harding Rd and 280th St.  An investigation determined that Jeffrey Jay Blue age 47 from West Union was operating a 2008 BMW 535 XI eastbound on Harding Rd when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. There was an estimated $5000 damage to the vehicle. Blue was not injured.

 

On June 15th, 2018 at approximately 5:07 pm the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a disturbance near the 4,000 block of X Avenue. After conducting an investigation Brandon Forcier, age 35 of Fairbank was arrested and charged with violation of a domestic abuse no contact order (simple misdemeanor). Brandon was held at the Fayette County Jail where he awaited initial appearance with a magistrate.

 

On June 20, 2018 at approximately 3:54 pm Daniel Richter age, 39 of Oelwein was placed under arrest for a valid Fayette County Warrant for theft in the fifth degree (simple misdemeanor). The warrant was issued after an investigation was conducted and it was discovered that Daniel had stolen two bottles of liquor from 6 Corners Gas and Grub in Arlington. Daniel was held on a $1,000.00 cash or surety bond.

 

On June 20th, 2018 at approximately 6:37 pm Heather Brodie, age 37 of Oelwein was placed under arrest for a valid Fayette County Warrant for failure to appear (original charge of driving while suspended). Brodie was held at the Fayette County Jail on a $300.00 cash or surety bond.
