Council Chambers, City Hall, June 4, 2018, 6:00 P.M.

West Union City Council met June 4, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at Council Chambers with Mayor Adam Keller presiding, and began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Attendance Roll call: Present –Smith, Stansbery, Gumm, and Bentley. Absent: Granger

Approval of the Motion was made by Stansbery, seconded by Gumm, to approve the agenda Agenda as presented. All Aye. Carried.

Approval of the Motion was made by Gumm, seconded by Stansbery, to approve minutes of

Minutes the May 21, 2018 regular meeting as presented. All Aye. Carried.

No Approval on Equalization Basin/UV project was to be completed on May 25, 2018. Discussed

Payment to Ray’s the work that is left, which is electrical work, programming, seeding, and getting

Excavating the flow meter running on automatic. Council decided not to approve this payment until we hear from Ray’s Excavating on their timing to finish.

Approve Sheriff Motion was made by Stansbery, seconded by Gumm, to approve a request for 2

Dept. Parking designated Sheriff parking spots on south side of the court house during parking lot

renovation for prisoner transfers. All Aye. Carried.

Approve Fireworks Motion was made by Stansbery, seconded by Gumm, to approve Fireworks Permit

Permit for Main St. for Main Street West Union for the 4th of July celebration at the Rec Center. All

Aye. Carried.

Approve Payment Jon Biederman advised Council that Speicer’s have begun sanitary sewer repairs

To Speicher for in Lion’s Park, Rotary Park, Methodist Church area, and Carpenter Street. Motion

Sewer Repair/CIIP was made by Stansbery, seconded by Gumm, to approve payment of $5,416.90 as

presented. All Aye. Carried.

Approve Payment to Motion was made by Gumm, seconded by Stansbery, to approve pay estimate #2

Baker Enterprises to Baker Enterprises for work completed on the Adam Street project for $36,820.34

For Adam Street and for change order #1 for $2,499.75. All Aye. Carried. Biederman advised they had to fill in an old storm sewer under the street with mortar, and soil was poor so they had to thicken the layer of rock. They will pave this week, and then start on sidewalks and retaining walls.

Approve Cigarette Motion was made by Gumm, seconded by Bentley, to approve Cigarette Permits

Permits for FY18/19 for BP Express, Quillins Food, All Stop, Dollar General, and Casey’s

General Store. All Aye. Carried.

Approve 2 Year Due to requests to use debit/credit cards, McIntyre requested to sign a 2-year

Contract with contract with Payment Service Network that will allow debit/credit cards used

Payment Service to pay at City Hall for water bills and other miscellaneous items. Bentley

Network made a motion to approve, Gumm seconded. All Aye. Carried.

Approve May Motion was made by Stansbery, seconded by Bentley, to approve May, 2018

Financials financials as presented. All Aye. Carried.

Next Council Next regular council meeting will be Monday, June 18, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in

Meeting council chambers.

Adjourn Motion made by Stansbery, seconded by Gumm, to adjourn. All Aye. Carried.
