One vehicle crash leads to OWI arrest
On June 1, 2018 at approximately 5:20 A.M., the Grant County Sheriff's Office received a report of a motor vehicle crash on Hwy 133 in Watterstown Township. Emergency units were dispatched to the scene and upon arrival, Renee Hubanks (51 of Boscobel) was driving her 1995 Chrysler, east bound on Hwy 133. Hubanks states at 3:40 A.M., she swerved to avoid hitting a deer and ended up coming to rest in the ditch along Hwy 133. Hubanks wasn't injured and nor was the vehicle damaged. Hubanks was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated (2nd), Operating after Revocation (2nd), and cited for no insurance. Hubanks was transported to the Grant County Jail.  Assisting the Sheriff's Office at the scene were Blue River Fire and EMS and Terry's Towing.
MOTORCYCLE CRASH
On 6/2/2018, Around 8:55a.m., William D. Murry IV 25 from Lancaster was driving a 1979 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound CTH-A east of STH-129. William failed to negotiate a curve driving into the ditch and crashing the motorcycle. William walked to a neighbor house where they drove him to Grant Reg Hospital to be check out. William had made arrangements to remove the motorcycle, the crash is still under investigation.
Retail Theft Violation
On June 2, 2018, at approximately 9:02 A.M., Broken Arrow Discount Store located in Blue River, called the Sheriff's Office to report they caught a shoplifter and were requesting assistance. A Sheriff's Deputy responded to the scene and made contact with Cara Georgeson, 41 of Blue River, who reported she put on a pair of shoes and walked out without paying Georgeson states she forgot to pay; however, Georgeson placed her old shoes in the new box and placed the new box on the bottom shelf, under other new shoes. Georgeson was charged with Retail Theft and was released from the scene. The property was recovered and turned over to the Broken Arrow.
Agricultural Accident with Injury
On June 4, 2018, at 4:43 p.m. the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of an agricultural accident at a farm on County Highway J in Little Grant Township. The investigation showed that an 8 year old juvenile male and his father, David High, age 42 of rural Mount Hope, were working on a skid steer. As they were working, the skid steer came out of gear and struck the 8 year old on the right side of his body. The juvenile male suffered leg and pelvis injuries and was flown to UW Hospital by Med Flight. Assisting at the scene was West Grant EMS
