Fayette Arrest

 On 5/20/2018 the Fayette County Sheriff's Office took a report of an incident that a male had showed up at a residence in and banished an assault rifle at a group in Hawkeye. After an investigation deputies had identified a suspect. On 5/24/2018 The Fayette County Sheriff's office arrested Mathew James Fowlkes, age 22 of Oelwein for going armed with the intent a class "D" felony and criminal mischief in the second degree a class "D" felony. Later that morning the Sheriff's Office conducted three search warrant on two vehicle and a residence on W Charles Street in Oelwein. That search recovered two firearms one that was used in the Hawkeye incident Saturday night. While conducting the search deputies saw evidence of drug trafficking and obtained a second warrant for the residence. Upon a search the Sheriff's Office seized a large amount of marijuana, large sum of cash and evidence to show the sale of narcotics. Deputies then charged a second person, Domanick R Fowlkes, age 24 of Oelwein for possession of a controlled substance with intent to sale, a class "D" felony.  Domanick was not at the residence and a warrant was requested for his arrest. A third charge was then filed on Mathew for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sale,a class "D" felony. Mathew Fowlkes is now being held on a $30,000.00 cash bond.  Fayette County Was assisted by the Oelwein Police with the searches.
