On 5-12-18 at 5:30 AM Vincent Mummau 56 of Strawberry point turned himself in on a warrant for violation of parole. He is being held at the Fayette County jail on $5000.00 bond.

On May 11th, 2018 at approximately 1:51 p.m. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an accident involving injury near the 200 block of Main Street in Maynard. Upon conducting an investigation it was determined that Howard Wolfgram age, 88 of Maynard was traveling Eastbound in his 2000 Ford Focus when he lost control and struck an unoccupied legally parked 1998 Ford Mustang belonging to April Estling, age 37 of Maynard . Estling’s 2003 Ford Explorer, which was also unoccupied and legally parked directly behind her Ford Mustang also sustained minor damages as result of the accident. Minor injuries were reported. The Ford Focus belonging to Wolfgram and the Ford Mustang belonging to Estling were both deemed a total loss. The incident remains under investigation. 

On 5/13/18 at 6:41 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a possible sighting of a vehicle towing a trailer that was reported stolen out of Black Hawk County. A Deputy made contact with the vehicle and trailer at 60th St and P Ave. An investigation determined that Joseph James Pettis age 46 from Des Moines was operating a 1993 Chevrolet Suburban with a suspended license. The trailer he was towing was reported stolen from Black Hawk County approximately three hours earlier. Pettis was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was charged with driving while license suspended and possession of stolen property. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
