Central approves budget

The Central Community School Board met April 9 and approved an $11,684,908 budget with a tax levy of $13.54 per $1,000 of assessed value.  This year’s budget was $9,736,938 with the same levy amount.  The increase in the new budget is due to a remodeling and reconstruction project at the school.

Board members received an initial contract proposal from the Central Education Association asking for a 3.88% total package increase for 2018-2019 and a 3.6% for 2019-2020.  The board will make a counter proposal at a later meeting.

An agreement with NICC was approved for students from Central to attend the alternative school.  Approval was given for Joe Koehn to serve as a volunteer track coach and contracts were approved for Gabriella Moore as a math teacher, Elikza Philpott as a shared Curriculum Director with MFL MarMac and Angie Bergan as a shared guidance Counselor with Starmont.
