DARE Graduation

The West Delaware Middle School Dare graduation was held March 29, 2018. The DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) class ends, with a short ceremony honoring top essay winners and the graduates of the program.   Essay winners were presented a medal and a pin as a reward for their efforts and hard work, winners were selected by classmates who voted after each student read their essay in front of class.  Following the program students enjoyed snacks and refreshments.  The Manchester Police Department has been presenting the D.A.R.E. program at West Delaware Middle School, and St. Mary’s since 1993.  Since its inception D.A.R.E. has undergone several curriculum changes to keep pace with drug trends as well as resistance strategies. The most recent addition to the curriculum  has been anti-bullying strategies.
