Burglary Investigations

On March 2, 2018 after an extensive investigation, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office along with the Monona Police Department executed two separate search warrants related to several burglary investigations. A search warrant was executed at 304 Truman Street in Luana, IA and also at 420 N Main Street in Monona. Deputies seized numerous tools, trailers, and other items exceeding $10,000 during both warrants. As a result of this investigation the following were arrested.

41 year old John Kottman of Luana                          Charges: Two counts of delivery of methamphetamines (Class “C” Felony”), Theft 1st Degree (Class “C” Felony)

40 year old Jennifer Trappe of Luana                       Charges: Possession of Stolen Property (Aggravated Misdemeanor)

57 year old Marty Bissell of Monona                        Charges: Theft 1st Degree (Class “C” Felony), Possession of a Firearm as a Felon (Class “D” Felony).


This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected as Deputies continue their investigation. Kottman remains in the Clayton County Jail on $25,000 bond. Bissell remains in the Clayton County Jail on $15,000 bond. Trappe was released from jail after posting a cash bond.
