CFS18-04913 03/02/18 CTY G / BAUERS RD, MONTFORT, WI 53569
On March 2, 2018 at 2:00 P.M., Grant County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle crash, with injures, on Cth G at Bauers Rd in Castle Rock Township. As a result of the investigation, Deputies determined Ross Laufenberg, 26 of Highland, was driving his 2001 Chevy Tahoe north on Cth G where he lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a curve. Mr. Laufenberg entered the east ditch before over correcting and crossing both lanes of Cth G. Laufenberg entered the west ditch and drove through a fence before striking a tree and coming to rest. Mr. Laufenberg was transported to the Southwest Health Center in Platteville with minor injures. Mr. Laufenberg was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated (2nd offense), Operating left of Center, and Open Intoxicants. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Fennimore Fire Department, Montfort EMS, and Haase's Towing.

Traffic stop leads to OWI 3rd Offense arrest
CFS18-04986 03/03/18 Hwy 133 and River Lane Rd, Potosi, WI 53820
On 03/03/2018, Tristan C. Moon, 32, of Potosi, was traveling northbound on Hwy 133 when he was stopped near River Lane Rd. for an equipment violation. Contact with Tristan determined he had been drinking alcohol. Field sobriety tests were done and Tristan was subsequently arrested for OWI 3rd Offense, and later released to a responsible party. Tristan's 2010 Dodge Ram was removed from the scene by a sober driver.

Two vehicle crash with minor injuries
CFS18-05193 03/05/18 Hwy 18, Mount Hope
On March 5, 2018 around 4:30p.m. the Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to a two vehicle crash in the Township of Mount Hope near the intersection of Hwy 18 and North Center Street. Involved were a 2005 Kia Spectra driven by Navarro Estaban Fransico, age 38 of Ciecro, IL, with RIVERA ALEMAN, LUIS YAIR as passengers both of Darlington. The Fransico vehicle was eastbound when he lost control and crossed the center line entering the west bound lane of travel. The west bound lane was occupied by a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse operated by Amanda Collins, age 28 from Mount Hope. The two vehicles hit head on causing the Collins vehicle to spin out and slid off onto the shoulder. The Fransico vehicle slid across the two lanes and came to rest. There were no life threating injuries and all parties involved refused medical transport at the scene. Assisting at the scene was Bloomington fire and EMS, as well as B and M Towing of Bloomington.

Pickup vs. Guardrail Face
On March 5, 2018 at about 7:47 PM the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a one vehicle crash that had happened about 20 to 30 minutes prior at the intersection of Coon Hollow Rd at Dry Hollow Rd in Liberty Township. The driver, Dylan Olson, 22, of Stitzer, had made it home and then called to report the crash.
Olson said that he had been driving his 2007 Ford F-150 going north on Dry Hollow Rd when he tried to make the left turn to go west on Coon Hollow Rd. The roads were snow covered with icy spots under the snow. Olson lost control while making the turn and he slid across and struck the guardrail face on the right side of the road/truck. This caused minor damage to the right side of his truck along most of the side.
Olson was uninjured in the crash and had been wearing his seatbelt. No citations were issued for this crash.

1 Vehicle Crash
CFS18-05254 03/06/18 HWY 81 / BAST LN, LANCASTER, WI 53813
On March 6, 2018, at 9:17 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a one vehicle crash on STH 81 near Bast Lane. The investigation shows a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer owned by Steve's Auto world was being operated east on STH 81. The driver of the vehicle, Mickey Fuerstenberg, 49, of Boscobel, lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway. The vehicle crashed into a rock embankment and came to rest back on the roadway. Fuerstenberg was transported to the Grant Regional Health Center for injuries sustained in the crash. The vehicle was a total loss and removed from the scene by Precision Auto of Platteville. Assisting at the accident scene was the Lancaster Fire and EMS, and Precision Auto. The crash remains under investigation.

2 Vehicle Crash w/Injury
CFS18-05325 03/07/18 STAGE RD / SEEMORE RIDGE RD, POTOSI, WI 53820
On March 7, 2018, at 7:17 a.m. the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a two vehicle crash with injury and entrapment at the intersection of Stage Road and Seemore Ridge Road. The investigation shows a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Jeff Landon, 52 of Lancaster, was turning west onto Seemore Ridge Road from Stage Road. A 2011 GMC Terrain was being driven by Jody Landon, 33, of Lancaster, south on Stage Road. Jeff Landon did not see the Jody Landon vehicle as he was making the west bound turn and crashed into
the Terrain. Jody Landon's vehicle struck the front of the truck, entered the ditch and rolled onto its side. Jody was removed from the vehicle by the Potosi Fire Department and transported to the Grant Regional Health Center with minor injuries. Jeff Landon was uninjured as a result of the crash. Assisting at the accident scene was the Potosi Fire and EMS Departments and Bennett's Towing of Lancaster. The crash remains under investigation.

One Vehicle Crash
CFS18-05332 03/07/18 HWY 151 / KAISER LN, HAZEL GREEN, WI 53811
On March 7, 2018 at approximately 9:45am the Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to a one vehicle crash on Hwy 151 near Kaiser Ln located in Jamestown Township. Karina Jimenez-Gonzalez, age 29 from East Dubuque was traveling southbound on Hwy 151 in her 2005 Nissan Altima when she lost control for her vehicle and struck a cement guard rail. Jimenez-Gonzalez was in the slow lane while another (unidentified) vehicle passed her in the fast lane. The passing vehicle then abruptly moved into the slow lane cutting Jimenez-Gonzalez off Jimenez-Gonzalez made an evasive maneuver to the left and then over corrected to the right losing control of the vehicle and striking a concrete guard rail on the west side of the road. Jimenez-Gonzalez was not injured in the crash and she was wearing her seatbelt. The vehicle sustained minor front end damage but was still drivable.

Crash results in injury and OWI 4th Offense arrest
CFS18-05451 03/08/18 County Q, Muscoda, WI 53569
On 3-8-18 at approximately 3:53pm, the Grant County Sheriff Office received a call about a crash along CTH Q in Castle Rock Township. The investigation showed that Andrew Kestle, 50 of Madison, was driving his 2008 Subaru northbound on CTH Q. Andrew went off the right side of the road, over corrected and went off the left side of the road. Andrew's vehicle went down an embankment and overturned multiple times.
Andrew was transported by Highland EMS to the hospital for possible injuries. Andrew was later arrested for 4th offense OWI, and also charged with failure to install an ignition interlock device. Andrew was cited for operating without a valid license and operating without insurance. Assisting at the scene and hospital was VP Towing, Highland EMS, and the Boscobel Police Department.
