One vehicle crash on snow covered roadway
On February 3rd at approximately 4:10 p.m., Alison Kruser, age 17 of Potosi was northbound on hwy 35/61 in her 2001 Ford Focus. Kruser lost control on the slippery snow covered roadway. Kruser left the east side of the roadway striking an embankment with the front of her car. Kruser came to rest in a field on the east side of the road. No injuries were reported. Kruser was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
One vehicle crash on Hwy 151
On February 3rd at approximately 4:30 p.m., Paige Dearth, age 19 of Oconomowoc, was southbound on Hwy 151 when she lost control of the 2004 Nissan Maxima she was driving. Dearth spun approximately 180 degrees on the slippery snow covered roadway. Dearth left the west side of the road striking a mailbox and a retaining wall with the rear and driver's side of the car. No injuries were reported. Dearth was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Airbags were deployed. Grant County was assisted on scene by Precision auto of Platteville.
Snow Causes Crash
On 2-3-18, at just before 5pm, Josh Hargaugh, age 23 of Dubuque, IA was eastbound on Hwy 18 when he lost control in the snow and struck a fence. No one was injured and the vehicle was removed by Bob's towing of PDC.

On 2-3-18, at around 7:00 pm, Nathan Copsey, age 32 of Bloomington, lost control in the snow and drove through a fence. No one was injured in the crash. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene.
Crash leads to OWI
On February 3rd at approximately 10:17pm the Sheriff's Office was notified of a one vehicle versus tree crash in the 500 block of E. Amelia Street in the Village of Cassville. A resident of a home near the crash came outside to see the vehicle leaving the scene. The resident was able to follow the suspect vehicle to a nearby motel and saw the male driver enter a motel room. A Deputy arrived on scene and made contact with the occupant of the room, who was identified as 41 year old Mickey Skaggs Jr. of Cassville. After investigation, it was found that Skaggs had been the driver and lone occupant of his 2007 Dodge Dakota when he struck the tree on Amelia Street. After performing field sobriety tests, Skaggs was arrested on suspicion of Operating While Under the Influence 1st offense. Skagg's was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured in the crash
