Vehicle Fire
On January 11, 2018 at approximately 7:13am the Grant County Sheriff's Office received a report of a vehicle on fire traveling northbound on Hwy 151. Timothy Key, age 49 from Dubuque, was traveling northbound on Hwy 151 in a 2004 Freightliner straight truck when the engine compartment suddenly started on fire. Key was on his delivery route for Aramark in his company's work truck. Key was able to pull off of Hwy 151 on Southwest Rd before evacuating the truck. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Platteville Fire Department who responded to the scene extinguished the fire. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Wenzel's Towing of Dubuque.

Jeep crashes while trespassing on snowmobile trail.
On January 11, 2018 at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff's Office took a report of a crash on Cty D near Lone Rd. Adam Van Natta, age 30 of Platteville was driving his 2013 Jeep Wrangler on the snowmobile trail west of Cty D. Elizabeth Laufenberg, age 29 of Cuba City was a passenger in the Jeep. Van Natta was driving east on the trail toward Cty D. When Van Natta got close to Cty D the accelerator of the Jeep became stuck on the floor mat causing the Jeep to surge forward. Van Natta left the north side of the trail striking a culvert, the ditch, several snowmobile signs, and a right of way sign. The right of way sign post broke and impaled the passenger compartment of the Jeep. The sharpened metal sign post entered the Jeep through the front passenger side floor board and into the front ofthe passenger side seat where Laughenberg was sitting. The post did not cause injury to Laughenberg, the metal post impaled the seat just missing her legs. Van Natta was cited for Trespass for driving his vehicle on the snowmobile trail.

Vehicles Involved: Redfearn was driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla
On Thursday, January 11, 2018 at approx. 12:55 P.M. Redfearn was traveling south on Hwy 80 slowing down make a right turn onto Louisburg Road in Hazel Green. Redfearn lost control due to the slippery road conditions. Redfearn's vehicle slid into the stop sign at Louisburg Road & Hwy 80. The vehicle received damage to the left front of her vehicle. The crash was due to the slippery road conditions. At the time of the crash it was sleeting and the road conditions were very slippery. The vehicle was removed by the operator. At the time of the crash Redfearn was wearing her seatbelt. There were no injuries reported and no citations were issued.

Two vehicle crash
On 1-11-18 at approximately 3:50 p.m., a 2008 Freightliner semi and trailer were parked along Hwy 61 in Marion Township. The driver Michael Meyer, age 72 of Genoa, was out of the semi assisting a subject that was involved in another crash. Bradley Helin , age 48 of Boscobel, was northbound on Hwy 61. Bradley was driving his 2004 Chevy Impala and could not stop his vehicle on the icy hill. Bradley struck Michael's semi trailer. Bradley,'s vehicle sustained moderate front end damage and the semi and trailer sustained no damage. Bradley was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured in the crash. Assisting at the scene was Boscobel fire and EMS and Terry's Tire and Tow.
