On 1-3-18, at approximately 9:30 am, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a 2 vehicle accident, semi vs car, in the 18000 block of Highway 3.  Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene and conducted an investigation.  It was found that Lawrence Ronald, 59 of Glenville MN, was east bound on Hwy 3 in a 2016 Volvo Semi.  Ronald was slowing for a right turn when he was hit from behind by an east bound vehicle. Chelsea Rasmussen, 24 of West Union was also eastbound on Hwy 3 in a 2004 Chevy Impala, as the collision occurred. No injuries were sustained and damage to the 2004 Chevy Impala was estimated at $4000.  Rasmussen was cited for Following to a Closely, a simple misdemeanor.  

On 1-3-18, at approximately 7:50am, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a 911 call of a vehicle in the ditch near the intersection of Hwy 187 and 30th St.  After Fayette County Sheriff Deputies arrived on scene it was found that Robyn Hosch, 25 of Manchester, was northbound on Hwy 187, when due to weather conditions, lost control causing her vehicle to go into the ditch.  No injuries were sustained and damage to the 2010 Hyundai Elantra was estimated at $3,000. This accident remains under investigation.

On 1/3/18 Story County Authorities arrested Joshua Jacob Snyder age 34 of Ames. Snyder had a valid Fayette County Warrant for fail to appear with the original charges being OWI and  possession of drug paraphernalia. Snyder was transported to the Fayette County Jail and where he is being held on bond a $2000 cash only bond.
