One Vehicle Crash - Air bag deployment
On Wednesday, 27 Dec 2017 at approximately 2056 hours, Justin T Henry (22) of Platteville was traveling north on Banner Road when he met a southbound vehicle at the crest of the hill. Henry swerved to the right to avoid the vehicle, entered the right ditch and crashed into a fence. Henry's 2004 Saturn air bags were deployed and the vehicle was totaled in the crash. Henry was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.
One Vehicle Crash with Injury
On 12-28-17 at approximately 9:50 a.m., Gerard Zimmer, age 54 of Glen Haven, was driving his 1999 Chevy cavalier northbound on highway 61 in Fennimore township. Gerard lost control of his vehicle on the icy road and went into the ditch. The vehicle struck a drainage ditch and overturned coming to rest on its top. Gerard was initially stuck in his vehicle but later got himself out. Gerard was not wearing his seatbelt and sustained injuries in the crash. The vehicle was totaled and Gerard was transported by Fennimore EMS to the hospital for his injuries. Gerard was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt. Assisting at the scene was Fennimore Fire and EMS, Fennimore Police, and Collision Specialists.
ONE VEHICLE CRASH, MINOR DAMAGE
On December 28th at approximately 10:49 a.m.,
Alexis Brost
, age 21
of Nekoosa
, WI,
was driving her 1999 Chevy Malibu, east on Hwy 18 in
Fennimore Township. Brost lost control of the vehicle on the
snow covered road. Brost crossed both lanes of traffic and struck a NO
PARKING ZONE sign on the north shoulder of the highway. Brost
came to rest in the north ditch. Minor damage to the vehicle and Doan's
Towing assisted at the scene. No injures and no charges filed.
One Vehicle Roll Over Crash
On December 28, 2017 at approximately 2:00pm the Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to a one vehicle crash on Hwy 151 southbound just north of the Badger Rd overpass, located in the Township of Jamestown. Michael Anundson, age 65 from Ayr, NE, was traveling southbound on Hwy 151 when he lost control of his 2002 Chevy Trail Blazer on the snow covered roadway, went into the ditch on the west side of the highway and rolled onto the roof of the vehicle. Anundson was not injured in the crash however his passenger Patricia Vacek, age 57 from Ayr, NE, sustained some minor injuries. Both were wearing their seatbelts. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Jamestown Fife Department and First Responders as well as Dickeyville EMS. The vehicle sustained heavy damages throughout and was removed by Donnie's Tire and Tow of Dickeyville.
One Vehicle Crash
On December 28, 2017 at approximately 3:42pm the Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to a one vehicle crash on Hwy 151 southbound just north of Jimtown Rd, located in the Township of Jamestown. Colette Janisch, age 66 from Cedar Rapids, IA, was traveling southbound on Hwy 151 when she lost control of her 2002 Ford Ranger on the snow covered roadway and struck the guard rail on the west side of the highway. Janisch was not injured in the crash as she was wearing her seatbelt. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by The Jamestown Fire Department and First Responders as well as Dickeyville EMS. The vehicle sustained heavy damages throughout and was removed by Kieler Service Center from Kieler.
One vehicle crash at the scene of a crash under investigation
On December 28, 2017 at approximately 3:57pm while the Grant County Sheriff's Office was investigating a one vehicle crash on Hwy 151 southbound just north of Jimtown Rd, located in the Township of Jamestown, a second crash occurred in the same location right in front of the investigating Deputy. Marrissa Knockel, age 19 from East Dubuque, IL, was traveling southbound on Hwy 151 when she lost control of her 2007 Chevy Malibu on the snow covered roadway and struck the guard rail on the east side of the highway. Neither Knockel nor her passenger, Paula Burke, age 18 from Prophetstown, IL, were not injured in the crash as they were both wearing their seatbelts. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by The Jamestown Fire Department and First Responders as well as Dickeyville EMS. The vehicle sustained heavy damages throughout and was removed by Wenzel's Towing from Dubuque.
ONE VEHICLE CRASH
On December 29, 2017 at 7:30 A.M., Steven Campbell, age 27 of Platteville, was driving his 2004 Chevy Cavalier west on Cth E in Liberty Township. Campbell drove through some snow/slush, which caused him to drive through the shoulder and then into the ditch, striking a tree. Minor damage to the car and no injures reported. No charges filed.
One Vehicle Crash
On December 29, 2017 at approximately 7:34am the Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to a one vehicle crash on CTH O near Big Platte Rd, located in the Township of Harrison. Sebastian Gerhards, age 21 from rural Potosi, was traveling westbound on CTH O when he lost control of his 2003 Buick Century on the snow covered roadway and went into the ditch on the north side of the highway. Gerhards was not injured in the crash as he was wearing his seatbelt. The vehicle sustained minor front end damages and was removed by Donnie's Tire and Tow of Dickeyville.
One Vehcile Crash
On December 29, 2017 at approximately 3:13pm the Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to a one vehicle crash on CTH H just west of Cuba City, located in the Township of Smelser. Mary Richardson, age 32 from rural Cuba City, was traveling westbound on CTH H when she lost control of her 2014 Ford Fusion on the snow covered roadway. Richardson was turning into a driveway located at 502 CTH H and struck the ditch on the west side of the driveway. Richardson was not injured in the crash as she was wearing her seatbelt. The vehicle sustained minor front end damages and was removed by Richardson.
