Burglary Charge

On September 17, 2017 at 2:46am, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to 19745 Keystone Road for a burglary in progress. The reporting party identified the suspect and further advised that an assault was taking place. When Deputies arrived they found a male subject with severe injuries from an assault. The MarMac  Ambulance was dispatched to the scene and the victim was transported to Crossing River’s Hospital for treatment of injuries. During the investigation, Deputies learned that the suspect forcefully entered the residence and assaulted a male victim and a female victim. The suspect fled of foot prior to law enforcement arriving on scene. Deputies charged 33 year old Christopher Junk of Monona with Burglary 1st Degree a Class “B” Felony, Willfull Injury a Class “C” Felony, Harassment- 1st Degree, Domestic Abuse Assault, and violation of a no contact order. A warrant for Junk was issued and he was arrested after turning himself into law enforcement on September 28th. Junk remains in the Clayton County Jail without bond. If convicted, Junk could face up to 37 years in prison. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Iowa State Patrol, Guttenberg Police Department, and MarMac Police and EMS.
