Two vehicle crash with one on fire
On Tuesday, 26 September 2017 at approximately 1917 hrs. the Grant County Sheriff's Office received a call of a two vehicle crash on County A just west of County Line Road in Lima Township with one vehicle on fire. Kevin B Zimmerman (65) of Platteville was traveling west on CTH A in a 2000 Chevy 2500 when he struck a silage bagger implement being pulled by a 1996 Peterbilt Tractor operated by Andrew J Johnson
(29) of Gratiot. The implement was an oversized and Zimmerman was unable to see the implement was in his lane. Zimmerman's vehicle traveled west on CTH A after impact due to the driver's front tire being torn from the vehicle and not having any brakes. Zimmerman's vehicle burst into flames however he was able to get himself and his 4 year old grandson out of the vehicle. The truck was a total loss. The implement sustained damage, however to what extent is yet to be determined. Zimmerman and his grandson sustained minor injuries.  Johnson was not injured. Helping at the scene was the Platteville Fire Department, Southwest Health EMS and Haase Towing of Montfort.
The crash remains under investigation.

One Vehicle Crash
On 9-29-17 at approximately 12:50pm, the Sheriff's Office received a report of a one vehicle crash along CTH Q in Muscoda Township. A deputy responded to the scene and found that Zachary Ohair, age 19 of Hillsboro, was northbound in his 2001 GMC. Zachary fell asleep while entering a curve and went off the roadway, strucking a sign. The truck went off an embankment and came to rest in the creek. The GMC was totaled. Zachary was wearing his seatbelt and only had minor injuries. Zachary was cited for inattentive driving. Assisting at the
scene was Terry's Tire and Tow.


One Vehicle Crash Property Damage
On Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 2:17 P.M. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a one vehicle crash with property damage and no injuries on Hippy Hollow Road west of Church Street in Potosi Township.
After arriving and speaking with the driver, Barbara Brogley, age 59 of Platteville, it was determined she was westbound on Hippy Hollow Road. Brogley stated she took her eyes off the roadway while negotiating a curve. Brogley struck a bridge. Brogley's vehicle, a 2016 Chevy Truck, exited the north side of the roadway off an embankment where the vehicle came to a rest in a creek. The vehicle received heavy damage. The vehicle was removed by Donnies Tire & Tow. At the time of the accident Brogley was wearing her seatbelt. The airbags were
deployed. Brogley will be issued a citation for Inattentive Driving.
