On September 22, 2017, at approximately 6:05pm a deputy with the Crawford County Sheriff`s Office was patrolling eastbound on State Highway 60, east of Bush Hollow Road, in the Township of Wauzeka.

The deputy observed a 1997 Saturn SL1 passing a vehicle in a no passing zone. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was identified as Justin K. Reuter, age 28, of Prairie du Chien and passenger, Daphne L. Bendall, age 33, of Wauzeka. There was also a four-year-old child inside the vehicle who was in a car seat, but not buckled in.

Reuter is currently on probation for resisting or obstructing an officer and Bendall is on probation for possession of methamphetamine. During the traffic stop, Reuter was found to be in possession of marijuana. Reuter was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana and a probation hold. Bendall violated a condition of her probation requirements and was placed under arrest on a probation hold. The four-year-old child was released to a family member.

Reuter and Bendall were transported to the Crawford County Jail for booking. While at the jail, deputies found Bendall to be in possession of fentanyl. Bendall will be referred to the Crawford County District Attorney`s Office for possession of a schedule two narcotic.

 On Friday, September 22, at 4:23pm the Crawford County Sheriff Dept. received a report of a car versus motorcycle in Marietta township, at the intersection of USH 61 and Hwy 60 near the Boscobel bridge.

A 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle owned and operated by Craig J Rom 44 of Cross Plains, WI was eastbound on Hwy 60.
A 2013 Dodge Avenger owned and operated by Samantha Offerdahl 34 of Boscobel was westbound on Hwy 60 and made a left-hand turn into the path of the Rom vehicle.
Rom received multiple serious injuries and was transported to the Boscobel hospital and later to the UW Madison hospital by Med Flight.
Offerdahl and her passenger refused treatment.

Both vehicles had heavy damage.
Offerdahl was cited with Failure to Yield while making a left turn.
Assisting at the scene were the Boscobel Fire & EMS, Steuben First Responders, and Terry's Tire & Tow.

On Thursday, September 21, 2017, at 6:39pm the Crawford County Communications Center received a report of a one-vehicle rollover crash with possible injuries on State Highway 131 near Onstine Hill Road in the Township of Wauzeka.

Chloe J. Groom, age 22, of Wauzeka was operating a 2006 Cadillac CTS southbound on State Highway 131 between Onstine Hill Road and Skunk Lane. While attempting to negotiate a curve, Groom’s vehicle went slightly into the right shoulder of the roadway. Groom attempted to get back onto the roadway but overcorrected the steering and lost control. Groom’s vehicle then crossed the centerline and crashed into the embankment along the northbound lane. After making impact with the embankment, Groom’s vehicle overturned onto the roadway and came to rest on its top in the southbound lane of traffic. Groom refused medical treatment.

Groom was cited for inattentive driving and failure to maintain control.

Assisting on scene was the Wauzeka First Responders, Wauzeka Fire Department, Boscobel EMS, Terry’s Tire and Tow and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
