Arrest Warrants

On 9/22/2017 the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office charged Mark Shannon Opperman, age 42 of Hawkeye with, possessing a firearm as a felon. The Sheriff’s Office recovered the firearm and a warrant for the arrest of Opperman was issued with a $5,000 bond.  This charge is a class “D” Felony and if convicted could face up to five years in prison.

 

On 9/21/2017 Fayette County Sheriff’s Office conducted a check on the sex offender registry and discovered that Cory Arden Hursey, age 31 of Oelwein was no longer residing at his registry address. After an investigation Hursey was unable to be located and charges were filed. Hursey was charged with Failure to comply with the sex offender registry first offense, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. A  warrant for his arrest was issued  with bond in the amount of $5,000.00.

 

On 9/21/2017 after an investigation the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office filed Forgery charges on Dawn Michelle Fernette, age 54 of West Union. Fernette had forged a document involving a civil issue where she presented forged documents where she paid more than she did. Forgery is an Aggravated Misdemeanor. A warrant was issued for her with bond in the amount of $5,000.00.
