THE ED-CO SCHOOL BOARD APPROVED THE HIRING OF KIM HELMRICHS AND JOY GAUL AS ELEMENTARY AIDES.  JACQUELYN CORTOM FOR CHEERLEADING FOR FOOTBALL, CARSTON CALDERWOOD FOR JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL AND FALL MUSICAL.  PAYSON KERNS FOR JUNIOR HIGH WRESTLING, AND LIZZY SOLSMA AS HIGH SCHOOL TRACK ASSISTANT.  THE BOARD APPROVED THE RESIGNATION OF JASON JONES AS JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL COACH.

DISTRICT IS TO ASSIST AND ENSURE THAT EACH STUDENT ACHIEVES HIS OR
HER LEVEL OF EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE
The Board recognized the following:
• Ed Wadsworth received the Farm Credit Services grant for $1900 to make improvements to the FFA
greenhouse. Work to include new electric heater to improve heat efficiency to run with the propane heater,
signage, and concrete the rest of the floor.
• Allison Voss made the FBLA finals (which is the top 15 in the nation) in the Help Desk event by scoring
highest on a 100-pt objective test. She advanced to a role play scenario where she talks to a judge panel as
if she's a help desk employee solving a computer technical issue. The event focuses on a member's skills in
communication customer service, conflict resolution, problem solving, and customer retention.
• FFA took second in the state at dairy judging cattle on Saturday: Jacob Wessel, Kohl Moser, Calvin Heims
and Jordan Wegmann
Heard presentations from the architectural firms of IIW of Dubuque and Martin Gardner of Cedar
Rapids/Strawberry Point
Larry Steffen from Eagle Point Solar shared information about solar panels and Alliant proposal.
