Farm Fatality/Injury

On September 7th, 2017 at 2pm, the Allamakee County Sheriff's Dispatch recieved a 9-1-1 call of a farm accident at a residence on Mays Prairie Drive in rural Allamakee County.
A 52-year old male individual was performing maintenance on a forage wagon and became trapped by the equipment.  The indvidual was freed by first responders.  He was transported by Med Link Air Ambulance to Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse for treatment of serious injuries sustained in the accident.
A second male individual, 55-years old, also involved in the maintenance of the forage wagon was also caught in the machine and was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
All names are being withheld pending notification of family members.
The accident remains under investigation by the Allamakee County Sheriff's Office.
Assisting at the scene was the Allamakee County Sheriff's Office, Lansing Ambulance Service, Lansing Fire Department, and Veterans Memorial Hospital.
