On Saturday, August 26th, 2017 at 5:33 pm the Crawford County Sheriff Dept received a report of a one vehicle accident in Prairie du Chien township, on State Highway 35 about .3 mile north of Cliffwood Dr.

A south bound 2001 Chevy Cavalier owned and operated by Raymond Torgerson, 57 of Wauzeka, WI went into the ditch on the east side of the road, came back on the road, crossed the centerline and then left the east side of the Hwy again.
The Torgerson vehicle came to rest in the brush on a hillside.

Torgerson claimed no injuries.
It is not certain how much damage the vehicle received.

Torgerson was cited for Failure to Have Vehicle Under Control.

Assisting at the scene was Milo's Towing.

On 08/26/17, the Crawford County Fair was hosting a tractor pull. Mitchell N Baker, 25 of Ferryville, was working as a flagger and unhooking the pull sled from the tractors. A tractor had just finished its full pull and shut off the engine. Mitchell stepped between the sled and the tractor when he saw the chain go tight. The tractor that was in charge of pulling the sled back to the start had started moving. Mitchell tried to jump out of the way, but tripped over the chain and fell down. The tractor rolled back and trapped him between the sled and the not running tractor. Deputies and EMS responded to the scene. Mitchell was transported to Vernon Memorial Hospital where he was later released with minor injuries. Mitchell stated that it was his own fault because he did not step on the sled where the safety was.
