On March 28, 2017 at 9:34 PM, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Addison Street in North Buena Vista for a traffic violation. Deputies came into contact with 58 year old Donald Boyce of North Buena Vista. During the traffic stop, Deputies observed a firearm in the vehicle. Deputies arrested Boyce for being in possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. Deputies also located methamphetamine on Boyce’s person. Boyce was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was also charged with driving while suspended, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and Driving while intoxicated-drugged. Boyce remains in the Clayton County Jail.

On April 13, 2017, Clayton County Deputies arrested 20 year old Trevor Moon of Cedar Rapids on a Clayton County Warrant for failure to appear. Moon was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he is being held on $2,500 cash bond.

 

On April 13, 2017, Dubuque County Authorities arrested 44 year old Bonnie Kohl of Dubuque on a Clayton County Warrant for Failure to serve jail time. Clayton County Deputies took custody of Kohl. She was transported to the Clayton County Jail to serve a 120 day sentence for driving while barred.

 

On April 14, 2017 at 2:17 AM, Clayton County Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Grandview Road. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Michael Liberman of Manchester was operating a 2008 Ford Focus when he fell asleep at the wheel. Liberman struck a mailbox and entered the ditch causing $3,000 damage. Liberman was cited for failure to maintain control. No injuries were reported.

 

On April 15, 2017, Clayton County Deputies arrested 34 year old Clinton Jones of McGregor on a Clayton County Warrant for Operating While Intoxicated. Jones was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he later posted the $250.00 cash bond.

 

On April 16, 2017 at 12:22 AM, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 18 near North Street in Marquette for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the driver, Deputies observed signs of impairment. Upon further investigation, Deputies arrested 41 year old Robert Weipert of McGregor for Operating While Intoxicated-1st Offense. Weipert was transported to the Clayton County Jail pending an appearance in Magistrate Court.

 

On April 18, 2017, Clayton County Deputies arrested 20 year old Tyler Kelly of Mechanicsville on a Clayton County Warrant for failure to appear. Kelly was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was held on $15,000 bond.

 

On April 18, 2017 at 5:40 AM, Clayton County Deputies responded to a car vs. deer accident on the Littleport Road near Edgewood. Upon further investigation it was determined that Zachary Collmann of Manchester was operating a 2008 GMC Sierra pickup when he struck a deer causing $5,000 damage. No injuries were reported.

 

On April 19, 2017, Clayton County Deputies took custody of 48 year old Charles Montes of Elkader from the Delaware County Jail on a Clayton County Warrant for failure to appear. Montes was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was held on $10,000 cash bond

 

On April 20, 2017 at 8:14 AM, Clayton County Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on the Gunder Road. Upon further investigation, it was determined that David Baruth of West Union was operating a Ford F550 Northbound on the Gunder Road. Baruth was slowing down to turn into a residential driveway when he was rearended by a 2001 Buick LeSabre operated by Blake Wettleson of Postville. Wettleson’s vehicle sustained about $10,000 damage. Baruth’s vehicle sustained about $2,000 damage.
