Theft of a Trailer
On April 7, 2017, the Grant County Sheriff Department received a complaint of a stolen trailer. Reddy Ag in Stitzer reported that they were missing an ATV
trailer. The trailer was taken sometime between March 26, 2017 and April 6, 2017. The trailer is a black steel ATV trailer with a side and rear ramp. If anyone
has any information about this trailer please contact the Grant County Sheriff Department or Grant County Crimestoppers at 1-800-789-6600.
Traffic complaint leads to OWI 1st arrest
On April 8, 2017 at approximately 5:21 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff's Officer received a traffic complaint of a truck pulling camper on County U and that the
truck was all over the road way. The complainant advised the truck and camper was driving down the wrong side of the road and ran several people off the
roadway. A traffic stop was made on Stage Rd north of Potosi. Nathan Knaeble, age 31 of East Dubuque, was operating a 2014 Dodge Pickup pulling a
camper. After a brief investigation a Grant County Deputy arrested Knaeble for OWI 1st. Knaeble was transported to the Grant County Jail where later he was
released to a responsible party. Knaeble was cited for OWI 1st, open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and operating left of center. The Grant County Sheriff's
Office was assisted on scene by the Dickeyville Police Department.
MOTORCYCLE CRASH 53811
On April 8, 2017 at approximately 9:37 PM Nathan J. Knox (Platteville) was traveling North on Badger Rd near the intersection of Sandy Ln, Jamestown
Township on his 2008 Buell motorcycle. Knox was negotiating a curve in the roadway when he lost control of the motorcycle causing it to be put down on its
side. Knox and the cycle crashed into a guardrail and guardrail post. Knox was injured in the crash and was transported by Dickeyville EMS to Mercy Hospital
in Dubuque, IA. This incident remains under investigation. Alcohol is considered to be a contributing factor in the crash. The Grant County Sheriffs Office was
assisted on scene by Dickeyville EMS, Jamestown First Responders, and Guys Trucking (Kieler).
