On April 5th 2017 at approximately 2:30 PM, Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 24 year old Steven Nesbitt of West Union on a valid Minnesota arrest warrant for failure to appear (original charge aggravated assault.) Nesbitt was transferred to the Fayette County Jail. Upon intake, it was found that Nesbitt had in his possession drug paraphernalia. Nesbitt was charged with Possession of Drug paraphernalia and currently remains at the Fayette County Jail. On the paraphernalia charge and also pending extradition hearing.
On 4/5/2017 at 12:17 P.M. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a 911 call of a three vehicle accident two miles south of West Union on Hwy 150. Once deputies arrived they found that a 2007 Chevy Impala driven by Pamela Lueder, age 62 of West Union was turning left into a driveway when a 2002 Ford Crown Vic driven by Teresa A Hageman, age 20 of Hawkeye had slowed for the vehicle turning, when a 2013 Nissan driven by Garrett T Johnston, age 21 of Linden, ran into the back of the middle vehicle forcing it into the vehicle turning left. No one was injured in the collision, however two of the vehicles were not drivable. The West Union Fire Department and Tri-State Ambulance Service assisted at the scene. Johnston was cited for following too close.
On 4/6/2017 at 8:00 A.M. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a two vehicle accident one mile east of Sumner on Hwy 93. Once a deputy arrived they found that a 2007 Dodge Durango driven by Tanner J Stewart, age 26 of Oelwein was turning right into a driveway when a 2000 Chevy 1500 driven by Bodie Garnier, age 18 of Sumner, ran into the back of Stewart’s vehicle. No one was injured and both vehicle sustained about $3,000.00 in damage. Garnier was cited for following too close.
