Marijuana Arrest

On April 5, 2017 at 12:58 P.M., a Grant County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 2010 Dodge Avenger for a speeding violation. The location of the traffic
stop was on Marsden Park St, next to the Fennimore High School. Upon making contact with the occupants, Tristan Kendrick, age 17 of Fennimore (Driver) and
female passenger, age 16 of Fennimore, a strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from passenger compartment of the vehicle. The deputy questioned
both individuals and Mr. Kendrick advised he and his passenger had recently smoked marijuana over the noon hour from school, which both were returning to
the Fennimore High School. Mr. Kendrick was arrested for Operating under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of
Drug Paraphernalia, and Operating after Suspension. The female juvenile was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Both individuals were later released to their parents. The Fennimore Police Department assisted the Sheriff's Office with this incident.
