On March 31st, 2017 at approximately 4:39 p.m. Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies located and arrested Kayci Hahn, age 20 of Arlington on a valid Fayette County warrant for child endangerment. Kayci was transported to the Fayette County Jail and held on a $3,000.00 cash bond.
On March 31st, 2017 at approximately 15:18 PM Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two vehicle accident near the intersection of Filmore and Cedar Road. Upon investigation it was discovered that Lawrence McGraw, age 85 of Waukon was traveling Northbound in his 2008 Buick Lacrosse when he failed to yield the right away from the stop sign and struck David Hansen, age 72 of Moorhead MN who was traveling Westbound on Filmore Rd. in a 2014 Ram 2500 belonging to Corwin Chrysler. McGraw’s Buick sustained approximately $4,000.00 in damages and the Dodge 2500 sustained approximately $1,500.00 in damages. Minor injuries were reported. The accident remains under investigation.
On April 1, 2017 at approximately 8:04 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a noise complaint at a residence on Front Street in the City of Westgate. When the Deputy arrived, loud music could be heard a block away from the residence. Upon investigation, 32 year old David Lee Staake of Westgate was confronted about the loud noise and became belligerent with the Deputy and assaulted him. Staake was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Assault on an Officer and Interference with Official Acts. Staake was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was held for an initial appearance.
On April 2nd at approximately 1:24 a.m. Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a car vs deer accident on highway 150 and Jade Road. Upon arrival it was discovered that Sean Krummel age, 20 of Iowa City was traveling south on Highway 150 when he struck a deer that was crossing the highway in his 1998 Honda CRV. The driver lost control of his vehicle and rolled it into the west ditch. No injuries were reported and the Honda CRV was considered a total loss. Krummel was cited for failure to maintain control and possession of alcohol under the legal age.
