On 3/4/2017 at approximately 6:30 pm the Fayette County Sheriff's Office took a report of a one vehicle accident on 100th St. near W Ave. Upon investigation Lyle Gordon 69 of Westgate, was traveling east on 100th St. when a deer entered the roadway. Gordon struck the deer and caused an estimated $5000.00 to his 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. No injuries were reported.
On March 5th, 2017 at approximately 6:54 p.m. Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a car vs. deer accident near the 26,000 block of Harding Road. Upon arrival it was discovered that Glenn Wolcott age, 34 of West Union was traveling Southbound when he struck a deer that was traveling across the highway in his 2004 Dodge Durango. No injuries were reported and the Dodge Durango sustained approximately $1,500.00 in damages.
On March 5th, 2017 at approximately 7:55 p.m. Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies located and arrested Steven Lynn Boleyn, age 51 of Elgin who had a valid Fayette County Warrant for failure to pay child support. Boleyn was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he is being held on a $150.00 cash bond.
On March 8, 2017, at approximately 12:34 am a Fayette County Deputy initiated a traffic stop approx. five miles west of Hawkeye on Hwy 18 for a traffic infraction. Upon making contact with the driver, Rocio Govea-Becerra, age 20 of Waterloo, it was determined that she had a revoked driving status. Govea-Becerra was charged with Driving While License is Revoked (Serious Misdemeanor), Failure to have SR22 Insurance (Simple Misdemeanor), and Operating without registration (Simple Misdemeanor). Govea-Becerra was transported to the Fayette County Jail where she is held pending an appearance with the Magistrate.
