On Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at 8:03 am The Crawford County Dispatch Center was notified of a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 35 at Mill Coulee Road, in Prairie Du Chien Township.
Jacob Doll age 17 of Rural Prairie Du Chien was driving a 1998 Chevy Cavalier. He exited the stop sign from Mill Coulee Road into the path of a Northbound 2009 Chevy pickup driven by Augustus Mitchell age 28 of Highland WI.
Doll and his passengers escaped injury. Mitchell also escaped injury.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene.
Doll was cited for Failure to Yield from a Stop Sign.
Assisting at the scene was Milo’s Towing and Bob’s Towing.

On October 6th, 2019, at 1:00am, a Crawford County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee operating on Highway 27. The Jeep attempted to avoid the deputy by turning onto TV and pulled into a residence, turning its lights off. The deputy made contact with the occupants and identified the driver as Vanessa Young, age 33, of Arlington, IA, passengers, Jon Moreland, age 29 of McGregor, IA and Justin Mohawk, age 38 of Fridley, MN.
During the contact, The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit arrived on scene and utilized K-9 Breck for an open free air sniff of the vehicle. K-9 Breck gave a positive alert to the presence of one or more controlled substances within the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted, where no contraband was located at the time.
The K-9 unit began speaking with Young and observed her to be exhibiting indicators of impairment. The deputy placed Young through field sobriety and ultimately placed her under arrest for operating with a restricted controlled substance 1st offense. Young was later found to be concealing a small plastic baggie of a crystal-like substance, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Young was charged with OWI-RCS 1st offense and possession of methamphetamine.
Moreland, who is on active bond conditions for methamphetamine-related charges in Crawford County Circuit Court, was arrested and charged with Felony Bail jumping.
Mohawk was released from the scene with no charges.
