After a public hearing to discuss the possibility of vacating a portion of the Mississippi Road near the Pattison sand mine, the Clayton County Board of Supervisors unanimously vote to reject a proposal to vacate.  At the beginning of the hearing, Kyle Pattison , who wants to improve a rail siding near the road, told the Supervisors that he did not want to see the road section permanently closed, just closed temporarily while work on the project was going on.  After discussion and other public comments, the Supervisors made their decision not to vacate.
