Minor 2 Vehicle Crash
On 09/12/19, Christian Bauer, 20, of Tennyson, was backing out his driveway when he struck a work truck driven by Anthony J Wakeham, 25, of Lanse MI. Anthony was entering the highway from the Leibfried Car Wash. Christian's 2012 Chevrolet Malibu and Badgerland Car Wash's work truck both sustained minor damage. Nobody was injured during the crash.


Distracted Driving Causes Collision
CFS19-26180 09/14/19 Hwy 18 / Rice Rd, MT HOPE, WI 53816
On 9-14-19, Jospeph Ready, age 18 of Prairie Du Chien, was traveling west on Hwy 18 when he looked down at his cell phone and rear ended a truck turning onto Rice Road. The truck was being driven by William Sweeney, age 54 of Mount Hope. No one was injured in the collision and Ready was cited for using his cell phone with a probationary license and no insurance. Assisting at the scene was Mt Hope Fire, Fennimore EMS, and Milos Towing.


One Vehicle Crash
CFS19-26239 09/15/19 CLAY HOLLOW RD / MORGAN RD, CUBA CITY, WI 53807
On September 15, 2019 at approximately 11:40 am a Grant County Deputy responded to a one vehicle crash at the intersection of Morgan Rd and Clay Hollow Rd located in the Township of Paris. The crash occurred at approximately 3:00 am. Ronald Reed, age 67 from rural Platteville, was traveling northbound on Morgan Rd in his 2011 Honda Civic. Reed did not make the turn left or right at the "T" intersection. Reed's vehicle went straight across Clay Hollow Rd and struck a well house to a residence across from the intersection. Reed then left the scene. The crash was discovered the next day as the residence did not have running water due to the damages to their well. Guy's Truck and Tractor towed the vehicle. Reed was not injured in the crash. Reed was wearing his seat belt. Reed was cited for Failure to Notify Police of a Crash, Hit and Run Property Adjacent to Roadway, and Driving Too Fast for Conditions.
